If you're looking to grow as a trader and portfolio manager but don't have the capital to start, Funded Accounts can be a great option.

Funded accounts are programs offered by certain trading firms or platforms, such as Topstep or Earn2Trade, which allow traders to trade with a proprietary account using the firm's capital. These programs typically work in the following way:

  1. The trader applies to the funded account program and undergoes an evaluation process. This usually involves taking a trading simulation or evaluation test to determine if the trader meets the firm's criteria for trading.
  2. If the trader meets the requirements, they are given access to a funded account with a predetermined amount of capital. The trader can then use this capital to trade the financial markets, with the profits split between the trader and the firm according to a predetermined profit split agreement.
  3. The trader is usually required to follow certain rules and risk management guidelines, such as position size limits and maximum drawdowns, to ensure that the trading is done within acceptable risk parameters.
  4. If the trader successfully meets the profit targets and other requirements of the funded account program, they may be given the opportunity to trade larger accounts or become a portfolio manager.

There are several other platforms that offer funded accounts similar to Topstep.

Here are some examples:

  • Earn2Trade: This platform offers a funded trading account program with various account sizes available, as well as mentorship and educational resources.
  • The5%ers: This platform offers a funded trading program with a risk management model that aims to limit losses, as well as support and resources for traders.
  • OneUp Trader: This platform offers a funded trading program with a risk management system that includes daily loss limits and other risk controls.
  • FTMO: This platform offers a funded trading program with multiple account sizes available, as well as educational resources and a risk management model.
  • TopstepFX: This is a sister platform to Topstep that offers funded accounts for forex traders.

In summary, funded accounts provide traders with an opportunity to trade with a proprietary account using the firm's capital, while also providing the firm with the opportunity to recruit and develop successful traders.

It's important to do your research and compare the features and requirements of each platform before deciding which one to use.

Each platform may have different evaluation criteria, profit split agreements, and rules for risk management, so it's important to choose one that aligns with your trading goals and preferences.
